INFO:
John the Baptist, The First Prophecy in 400 Years, and the Promise of the ages. Luke 1 in around 90s. Day 45 of Daily Bible Highlights I love this chapter and how it gives details no other gospel. For instance, Gabriel says that Zacharias' prayers had been heard by God and that Elizabeth would be having a son. Zacharias has been praying for a baby boy for so long that he had given up. But God hadn't. God doesn't give up. I love the gospel of Luke because it reminds me of a few things: 1. God still does the impossible. (The writer of Luke is also the writer of Acts) 2. Our faith is a well documented, and well tried. Luke lists the entire lineage of Jesus, names the governors at the time the things are happening... This is not a document that was fraudulently written after the fact, fearful of challenge. Great detail was shown on purpose to demonstrate the validity of the terms. As we go through the gospel of Luke over the next 24 days, I am ecstatic to experience the ministry of Jesus as written by Luke, Paul the Apostle's companion. Buckle up my friends, Luke is going to be really really good.
